4.18.14

Lectio:  Mt 28.1-10

Meditatio: "Then the angel said to the women in reply, ‘Do not be afraid! I know that you are seeking Jesus the crucified. He is not here, for he has been raised just as he said, Come and see the place he lay’.” Mt 28.5-6

Oratio: "O God, what a blessing for the two Marys who were performing a corporal week of mercy.

I remember Mary Magdala and the other Mary went to prepare Jesus’ body for He was hastily buried on Good Friday; and they would be the first of His disciples to be the given the good news that He had been raised up.  What a blessing they received! What a corporal work of mercy they were willing to do and were in the process of doing. Help me to practice the corporal works of mercy for they pinpoint areas where we can and should show our love.

I  ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what.
God is saying to you

Operatio: “angel said....Jesus...been raised”; what a message the angel had for the two Marys who went to the tomb of Jesus that first Easter to give His body a proper burial! He has risen! This is our Easter faith! In prayer seek the grace to be open to the needs of others and respond to them to the extent we are able; for that is the way of the Good News and it must be our way, too.

Tomorrow's reading: Jn 20.1-9
