6.09.14

Lectio:     Mt 5.13-16

Meditatio: “You are the light of the world. A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden.” Mt5.14

Oratio: O God, You want the world to know You and we are the source of that  knowledge for the world.

I remember Jesus using the metaphor of light, told His disciples they must be the light of the world; that is, the world should come to know Hin and in knowing Him, know You and to do so by living a life of goodness. In prayer may my life reflect the light You desire so that those whose lives I touch and who do not know You, may come to know and love You.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what
God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect: "light...cannot...hidden”; our role as followers of Jesus is to live the Law of Love so that others will be influenced by our good example and be drawn into the Light of Christ. In prayer seek to live in accordance with the Way taught by Jesus.

Tomorrow's reading: Mt 5.17-19
