Lectio: Lk 24.13-35

Meditatio: "Then she two recounted what had taken place on the way and how he [Jesus]was made known to them in the breaking of the bread." Lk 24.35

Oratio: "O God, Your ways are both mysterious and wonderful!

I remember two of Jesus’ disciples did not recognize Jesus that first Easter Sunday as they walked to Emmaus and He joined them on the way but they did at the end of the day when He broke bread with them.

Grant that I may always recognize Jesus in the Eucharist for that is the way He continues to be present to us in a real and personal way every day.

I ask these and all things through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with the

Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.

Operatio: Reflect on "breaking of the bread"; a rite that Jesus included at the Last Supper; the Holy Eucharist in which Jesus is personally present; in prayer thank Jesus for remaining with us in such a wonderful way until the end of time and seek the grace to be a Eucharistic person and be Christ for others for that is the best way to show our gratitude.

Tomorrow's reading: Lk 24.35-48
