Lectio: Lk 5.12-16

Meditatio: “Jesus stretched out his hand, touched him, and the leprosy left him immediately.” Lk 5.13

Oratio: O God, what wonder and power You have and Your Son showed!

I remember Your Son responded to the faith of a man filled with leprosy, and did what was forbidden by the community, He touched him and at His words, the man’s leprosy was cured.

Grant that I may always be grateful to such a kind and compassionate God who only asks of us faith and Who will respond to us - sometimes spectactularly, sometimes ordinarily, but always with love for us.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God,  forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what
God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect: “touched...leprosy left him”; what power Jesus’ touch had! How loving of Jesus to touch one of the untouchables of society; in prayer seek the grace of a grateful heart and routinely give God our thanks and praise for His loving care for us and seek the grace to show compassion towards those whose lives we touch and are in need.
