1.23.14

Lectio: Mk 3.13-19

Meditatio: “He [Jesus] appointed twelve [whom he also named apostles] that they might be with him and he might send them forth to preach.” Mk 3.14

Oratio: O God, what great dignity and responsibility You bestowed  on us.

I remember Your Son selected 12 men to be with Him and whom He could send forth and preach the Good News. And they did!

Grant that I may remember the great dignity You gave to us by virtue of our baptism, and bee Your apostles of the Good News to those whose lives we touch.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what.
God is saying to you

Operatio:  reflect"apostles...send...preach; Jesus selected 12 men to carry on His mission and although they were uneducated and a motley crew; all but 1 did what He wanted on them and we are the beneficiaries of their work and that of their successors. In prayer seek the grace to fulfill our baptismal responsibility and spread the Good News especially by the lives we live.

Tomorrow's reading: Mk 16.15-18
