1.11.14

Lectio: Mt 3.13-17

Meditatio: “And a voice came from the heavens, saying 'This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased'." Mt 3.17

Oratio: O God, You did not want us to be on the dark as to who Jesus is.

I remember at Jesus baptism You once again revealed His  identity - Your Son.

Grant that I may always remember the many epiphanies You gave us and continue to give us about Your Son so we will recognize Him and live in accord with the Good News.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what.
God is saying to you.

Operatio: Reflect: "voice...beloved Son"; the Father's voice, who heard it beside John? We don’t know but we hear it now. May Jesus, who was manifested to the Gentiles last Sunday and who is once again manifested at His Baptism and continues to be manifested to us every time we see or receive the consecrated Host or see Him in the covenanted love of a couple. In prayer seek the grace to always  give our allegiance to Jesus and accept His call to repent and live in accord with the Good News. If we do, one day we will be richly blest when He manifests Himself to us in the heavenly kingdom. May Jesus be praised!
