1.14.14

Lectio: Mk 1.29-39

Meditatio: “He [Jesus] told them, ‘Let us go on to the nearby villages that I may preach to there also. For this purpose I have come’.” Mk 1.38

Oratio: O God, You sent Your Son for all and not for just some.

I remember when the people of Capernaum wanted Him to stay there, He made it clear that He must continue His itinerant ways and go on to those who have not yet heard the Good News.

Grant that I may remember that the Good News is not something to be hidden but something to be proclaimed to all and then to allow the seeds of faith take root in God’s time.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what.
God is saying to you.

Operatio: Reflect: "go..preach...there”; Jesus made it clear when Peter let Him know that all the people of Capernaum were looking for Him because He had done such miraculous things there, that He was not interested in adulation but in mission; in prayer seek the grace to spread the Good News to those who do not yet know it and whose lives I touch so that all may benefit as Jesus wants.

Tomorrow's reading: Mk 1.40-45
