Lectio: Lk 5.27-32
Meditatio: “And leaving everything behind, he [Levi] got up and followed him.” Lk 5.28
Oratio: "O God, You are totally committed to us - and we should be so committed to You.
I remember Levi accepted Jesus’ invited to follow Him and he left everything behind - what an example of total commitment!
Grant that I may leave my desires for things behind and keep only You in my focus.
I ask this of You, who lives and reigns with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever.
Amen.”
Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.
Operatio: Reflect on those things of life which attract me. Do they keep me from God or do they lead me to Him? If the former, ask for the grace to weed them out and pray to St. Matthew for that grace.

- I was ordained for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia on May 15, 1993. I am a widower with 8 children and 24 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. I publish daily my Lectio Divina efforts via a group email. I will publish such efforts from time to time to this site as well as other pertinent info about the Good News of Jesus Christ or issues which are contrary to the Good News. What is Lectio Divina? Lectio Divina is the Study of and Meditation on Sacred Scripture. The steps include: Reading (Lectio),- Pondering (Meditatio); Praying (Oratio) and Silence(Contemplatio). I use the daily Lectionary as the source of readings.
