3/18/11

Lectio: Mt 1.16, 18-21, 24a

Meditatio: “When Joseph awoke, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded him.”
Mt 1.24a

Oratio: "O God, Your ways are mysterious - but you reveal them to us when it is for our good.

I remember Mary conceived Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit and You revealed this through an angel to Joseph, her husband, so as protect Mary and the child and to give us a savior who would be of the house of David.
Grant that I may be always open to Your ways even though I do not understand them knowing You revealed them for my good or for the good of others.

I ask this of You, who lives and reigns with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever.
Amen.”

Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.

Operatio: Reflect on the mystery of the Incarnation - Do I believe the narrative? Do I rejoice in it? Resolve to do so for by Jesus becoming one of us, we were enabled to become gods.

Tomorrow’s reading - Mt 17.1-9
