Lectio: Mk 6.1-6a
Meditatio: “Is he not the carpenter, the son of Mary, and the brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon And are not his sisters here with us? And they t took offense at him.” Mk 6.3
Oratio: O God, how disappointed Jesus must have felt when the people from His home town rejected Him because they thought they knew Him and that He could not be what He was claiming to be. Pray for an openness to the Mysteries of our faith for therein lies the path to salvation.
I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Contemplatio: spend some time in silence & meditate on the selected passage and hear what God is saying to you.
Operatio: reflect: “Is he...son of Mary....took offense...him”; Jesus was rejected by the people of His home town because they thought they knew Him. How sad! Seek the grace to rejoice in the familiar elements of our faith for they are meant as a source of encouragement for us.
Tomorrow's reading:Mt 9.18-26
May your Fourth of July be a time of joy with your family.
