12/02/11

Lectio: Mt 9.35-10.1, 5a, 6-8

Meditatio: “At the sight of the crowds his [Jesus’] heart was moved with pity for them because they were troubled and abandoned, like sheep without a shepherd.” Mt 9.36

Oratio: "O God, You did not leave us as orphans after You created us.

I remember Jesus’ heart was moved with pity because the crowds were troubled and He ministered to them and cured their diseases - how compassionate of Jesus!

Grant that I may do my part to help those who are troubled in heart, soul and body.
I ask this of You, who lives and reigns with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever.
Amen.”

Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.

Operatio: Reflect on “moved with pity” - sympathy, empathy, compassion, suffering with; Jesus’ heart. Pray to imitate Jesus’ heart in ministering to others.

Tomorrow’s reading - Mk 1.1-8
