Lectio: Lk 5.17-26
Meditatio: “But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sings, he [Jesus] said to the man who was paralyzed, ‘I say to you, rise, pick up your stretcher and go home’.” Lk 5.24
Oratio: "O God, You know we are slow to believe and You worked miracles to convince us.
I remember Jesus showed He had the power to forgive sins by first forgiving the paralytic and then commanding him to walk which he did - Wow!
Grant that I may be always open to Your word for it is life and truth.
I ask this of You, who lives and reigns with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever.
Amen.”
Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.
Operatio: Reflect on “forgiveness of sins’ - a divine power, a power bestowed by Jesus on His disciples; a power of the ordained priesthood given at their ordination. In prayer thank God for the power to forgive sins which He bestowed on His priests for that means all that all that spiritually cripples us can be and will be healed if we only seek forgiveness.
