Lectio: Lk 1.39-45
Meditatio: “Blessed are you who believed that what was spoken to you by the Lord would be fulfilled.” Lk 1.45
Oratio: "O God, faith is Your gift to us and the foundation for us to realize Your great blessings.
I remember Elizabeth declared Mary ‘Blessed’ for she believed in Your word.
Grant that I may always believe in Your word that You continue to speak to me through the Scriptures and through the Pope and through the Bishops united with the Pope.
I ask this of You, who lives and reigns with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever.
Amen.”
Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.
Operatio: Reflect on “believe” - faith; acceptance of the word of another without proof; rational if the source of the word is authoritative; in prayer thank God for the gift of faith, and the gift of hope which flows from it; and for the grace to do always te works of charity that God wants of me.

- I was ordained for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia on May 15, 1993. I am a widower with 8 children and 24 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. I publish daily my Lectio Divina efforts via a group email. I will publish such efforts from time to time to this site as well as other pertinent info about the Good News of Jesus Christ or issues which are contrary to the Good News. What is Lectio Divina? Lectio Divina is the Study of and Meditation on Sacred Scripture. The steps include: Reading (Lectio),- Pondering (Meditatio); Praying (Oratio) and Silence(Contemplatio). I use the daily Lectionary as the source of readings.
