12/13/11

Lectio: Lk 7.18b-23

Meditatio: “And he [Jesus] said to them in reply, ‘Go and tell John what you have seen and heard: the blind regain their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the good news proclaimed to them’.” Lk 7.22

Oratio: "O God, miracles are great! But You gave all of us something more.
I remember Jesus worked miracles for some but He proclaimed the good news to all.

Grant that I may be always grateful that I heard the good news and that I have been gifted with faith in it.

I ask this of You, who lives and reigns with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever.
Amen.”

Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.

Operatio: Reflect on “Good News” - baptism for the forgiveness of sins; eternal life for all; law of love; Jesus’ continuous presence; the Eucharist! In prayer ask for the grace to do my part to spread the Good News as my way of saying thanks to God.

Tomorrow’s reading - Lk 7.24-30
