12/24/11

Lectio: Lk 2.1-14

Meditatio: “For today in the city of David a savior has been born for you who is Messiah and Lord.” Lk 2.11

Oratio: "O God, You made sure that the world would know the significance of the birth of Your Son.

I remember You sent angels to announce His birth to the shepherds and that He is their Messiah and Lord - what great news and how unmistakable His identity.

Grant that in the clamor of Christmas preparations I may not forget the reason why we prepare and celebrate.

I ask this of You, who lives and reigns with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever.
Amen.”

Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.

Operatio: Reflect on “born for you” - a birth for others; a birth of Jesus for us; for our salvation; response required; Resolve to strive to live the message of Christ - to be a person of love for others and then abide in His peace.

Tomorrow’s reading - Mt 10.17-22

P.S. A holy and happy Christmas to you and to yours!
