12/10/11

Lectio: Jn 1.6-8, 19-28

Meditatio: “He [John the Baptist] said: ‘I am the voice of one crying out in the desert, “Make straight the way of the Lord” as Isaiah the prophet said’.” Jn 1.23

Oratio: "O God, we all have a mission to make known Your Son and His salvific role.
I remember John the Baptist was a ‘voice’ of one just as each of us is and he proclaimed the coming of the Messiah.

Grant that I may cry out to others that Christ is the Way, the Truth, the Life and do so by the way I live my life.

I ask this of You, who lives and reigns with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever.
Amen.”

Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.

Operatio: Reflect on “testimony” - words; example; works; Pray that I may cry out like John the Baptist did and fulfill my baptism and Confirmation role and give testimony to Christ, the Lord of my life and my salvation.

Tomorrow’s reading - Lk 1.39-47
