Lectio: Mt 11.16-19

Meditatio: “The Son of Man came eating and drinking and they said, ‘Look, he is a glutton and a drunkard,’ A friend of tax collectors and sinners. But wisdom is vindicated by her works.” Mt 11.19

Oratio: "O God, we are so perverse at times.

I remember the religious elite considered John the Baptist - mad; but the Christ - a glutton and a drunkard - but wisdom shows they were keys to our salvation.

Grant that I may be slow to judge and more to God’s ways which are wisdom’s ways.

I ask this of You, who lives and reigns with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever.
Amen.”

Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.

Operatio: Reflect on “Wisdom”- the domain of the Holy Spirit; at times mysterious; always grace; it is always fruitful. Resolve to refrain from snap judgments; Be reflective so as not to rule actions that originate with God; and be careful that prejudice does not enter my decision making..

Tomorrow’s reading - Jn 1.6-8, 19-28
