12/19/11

Lectio: Lk 1.26-38

Meditatio: “Therefore, the child to be born will be called holy, the Son of God.” Lk 1.35b Oratio: "O God, what great news for Mary and for us, her child will be Your Son.

I remember by virtue of our Baptism we too are holy and Your children.

Grant that I may rejoice always in the knowledge that I am Your child and Mary’s child, too.

I ask this of You, who lives and reigns with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever.
Amen.”

Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.

Operatio: Reflect on “birthright” - who a person is; his/her origin; his/her parentage; baptism - a new birth; birthright in God. In prayer thank God for the wonderful way in which I am made and in the wonderful way in which I was reborn in Baptism.

Tomorrow’s reading - Lk 1.39-45
