Lk 19.41-44

"As he [Jesus] drew near, he saw the city [Jerusalem] and wept over it.” Lk 19.41

"O God, You so much want the best for us but we often reject You and Your ways.

I remember Jesus wept over Jerusalem because its people rejected His mission and the peace His coming was to usher in.

Grant that I may be alert and open to Your will for it is the path to eternal peace and joy.

I ask this through Our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Operatio: Reflect on “Jesus’ weeping”; deep sorrow; for the chosen people; for the folly that would follow as a result; reveals Jesus’ humanity in a very poignant way. Resolve to pray always to know what God wants and to do what God wants so that I may be a source of joy for the Lord.

Tomorrow’s reading: Lk 19.45-48
