Lk 20.27-40
"but those who are deemed worthy to attain to the coming age and to the resurrection of the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage.” Lk 20.35
"O God, You are the One who orders all creation for Your purposes.
I remember when the Sadducees tried to trap Jesus in His teaching about the resurrection, Jesus replied by telling them marriage is for this life but it has no purpose in eternal life.
Grant that I may always try to discern Your purpose in creation and in creation activities so that I may give You the praise You deserve and use things rightly in this life.
I ask this through Our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit one God, for ever and ever. Amen
Operatio: Reflect on “marriage” - an institution for this life only; purpose - the good of the couple and for the good of children; in resurrected life no need as the good of the couple is completely satisfied by God who is All-Good; and since all live forever, there is no need for additional children to be born in heaven. Wonderfully, though love does survive so that those whom we love on earth are certainly part of that eternal lovefest in heaven.
