11/17/11

Lk 19.45-48

"saying to them, ‘It is written, ‘My house is a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves’.” Lk 19.46

"O God, You are so kind to us and we are so forgetful of You.

I remember Your temple in Jerusalem became a marketplace for the selling of animals for sacrifice and Your Son had to reclaim it for You by driving out the merchants.

Grant that when I enter Your House, I may leave earthly plans behind and use the time and place to give You thanks and praise.

I ask this through Our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Operatio: Reflect on “house of prayer” - a Church, a chapel, a Temple of the Holy Spirit, our souls by virtue of our baptism; Resolve to use the physical place and the spiritual place to give thanks and praise to God and to renew my commitment to the New Covenant established by the blood of Christ.

Tomorrow’s reading: Lk 20.27-40
