11/27/11
Lectio: Mt 8.5-11
Meditatio: “He [Jesus] said to him [centurion], ‘I will come and cure him’.” Mt 8.7
Oratio: "O God, what great works Your Son did so that we would believe in Him.
I remember He cured a centurion’s servant from a distance by His word alone because of the humility and faith of the centurion, who was a Gentile - how magnificent and powerful a deed of Jesus.
Grant that I may always entreat You with humility and hope in my prayers and allow You to do what You know is best.
I ask this of You, who lives and reigns with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever.
Amen.”
Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.
Operatio: Reflect on “miracles” - beyond the power of a human being; something very much out of the ordinary; an divine act often done because of faith or to elicit faith. Resolve to pray with confidence and humility for what I or others need and with trust in God’s providence that He will do what is best.
