Lk 21.1-4
"and he [Jesus] noticed a poor widow putting in two small coins.” Lk 21.2
"O God, with You it is not appearances that counts but what is in the heart.
I remember Jesus declared to His followers that a poor widow who gave two small coins gave more than all the rich to the temple for she gave from her need while the rich gave from their surplus.
Grant that I may always have a generous heart in the use of my time, talent and treasure so that I may be pleasing to You as Your child.
I ask this through Our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit one God, for ever and ever. Amen
Operatio: Reflect on “the widow’s gift” - two small coins; the widow’s mite; not much in the eyes of the world; very much in the eyes of God; Pray to realize that it is not the size of the gift that counts but the size of one’s heart that counts in serving others and then for the grace to have a generous spirit.
