10.02.15

Lectio:  Lk 10.17-24

Meditatio: “Nevertheless, do not rejoice because the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice because your names are written in heaven.” Lk 10.20

Oratio: O God, Jesus gave His disciple great power and they exercised it and saw it as a reason for rejoicing. But He set the record straight by letting them know that power over spirits is not a reason to rejoice but the fact that their names were written in heaven. Pray for a humble heart and take refuge n the fact that you have been blest with your faith and strive to live it out in all things for therein lies true joy.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence & meditate on the selected passage and hear what  God speaks to you,

Operation: reflect: "not rejoice....spirits... subject;; but..names...heaven”; true joy does not lie in earthly power but in membership in the kingdom. Seek the grace to live the faith that Jesus is the Lord and to put His words into practice for therein lies our greatest and ultimate joy.

Tomorrow's reading:Mk 10.2-12
