10.15 to10.17.15

10.15.15

Lectio: Lk 12.1-7

Meditatio: “Even the hairs of your head have been counted. Do not be afraid. You are worth more than many sparrows." Lk 12.7

Oratio: O God, Younwatch over us with loving care and so intently that You even know the number of our hairs. How well You know us and care for us! Pray to trust always in Your living care and we will never be disappointed.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence & meditate on the selected passage and hear what  God speaks to you,

Operation: reflect: "hairs...counted...worth more...sparrows"; Jesus used hyperbole to express His Father's love for us but in truth it is not hyperbole but real.  Seek the grace to always fly unto our Lord for His protection and He will be there for us.

Tomorrow's reading:  Lk 12.8-12

10.16.15

Lectio: Lk 12.8-12

Meditatio: “Everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but the one who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven." Lk 12.10

Oratio: O God, Your Son declared one sin which will not be forgiven- blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. Why? It is heretical blasphemy and denies the existence of an attribute of God - His very love and Life - for  the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and the Son  and He is the author of life and God's love - so if we deny the very existence of the One from whom  we offended, it is impossible to ask for that One to forgive. Pray to love the Holy Spirit always so as to always remain in His presence.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence & meditate on the selected passage and hear what  God speaks to you,

Operation: reflect: "blasphemes...holy Spirit...not...forgiven"; blasphemy - there are two types - imprecatory ( cursing) and heretical. It is the latter which can not be forgiven for we deny the very existence of the One whose forgiveness we need.  Seek the grace to abide in the Holy Spirit always for therein is a safe refuge.

Tomorrow's reading:  Mk 10.35-45

10.17.15

Lectio: Mk 10.35-45

Meditatio: “Rather, whoever wishes to be great among you will be your servant; whoever wishes to be first among you will be the slave of all." Lk 10. 43b-44

Oratio: O God, Jesus declared that greatness is achieved when we are servants to other and the height of greatness means we serve like a slave - total self-giving. Pray that I may do the Will of God and willingly serve the needs of others in Jesus’ name; not to attain greatness, but to attain true friendship with Jesus.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence & meditate on the selected passage and hear what  God speaks to you,

Operation: reflect: "great...servant....first....slave”; greatness in Jesus’ eyes in achieved in loving service to others in His name. Seek the grace to be always thankful for Jesus’ total self -giving which brought about the opening of Heaven to all who believe and serve in His name..

Tomorrow's reading: Lk 12.13-21
