10.11.15

Lectio: :Lk 11.29-32

Meditatio: “While still more people gathered in the crowd, he said to hem, ‘This generation is an evil generation; it seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it, except the sign of Jonah’.” Lk 11.27
Oratio: O God, Jesus told the crowd who were seeking a sign of His identity, that the only sign would be the sign of Jonah.   Upon reflection Jesus was referring to the power of His preaching which was certainly greater than Jonah for He backed His preaching with miracles.. Pray to accept the words of Jesus which have been handed down to us for they are the words of eternal life..

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You  and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence & meditate on the selected passage and hear what  God speaks to you,

Operatio: reflect: "seeks...sign...none...but....Jonah”; Jesus said His peaching is the sign of who He is for His preaching brings about reform and results in eternal life. Seek the grace to believe in the Gospels for they record His teachings and His life and through Him we have eternal life if we believe and live the way He taught.

Tomorrow's reading: LK 11.37-41
