10.12.15

Lectio: LK 11.37-41

Meditatio: “But what is within, give alms, and behold, everything will be clean for you.” Lk 11. 41
Oratio: O God, Jesus used his hosts dismay that He did not comply with the ritual cleansing of hands before eating as a teachable moment about spiritual hygiene. He knew if we were generous with our time, talent and treasure, we would be open to God’s cleansing love. Pray to be an alms giver for no greater blessing can come upon you than God’s cleansing love.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You  and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence & meditate on the selected passage and hear what  God speaks to you,

Operatio: reflect: "alms...everything...clean”; Jesus told His host about what would truly cleanse everything that is within us; namely, almsgiving. Seek the grace to make the ascetical practices of prayer, fatting and almsgiving part of one’s spirituality and one will be greatly blest in this life and in the next..

Tomorrow's reading:Lk 11. 42-46
