10.18.15

Lectio: Lk 12.13-21

Meditatio: “and I shall say to myself, ‘Now as for you, you have so many good things stored up for many years, rest, eat, drink, be merry!’ But God said to him, ‘You fool, this night your life will be demanded of you, and the things you have prepared, to whom will they belong’.” Lk 12, 19-20

Oratio: O God, Jesus warned against greed in His parable to a rich man who had so much that he thought he could rest and eat, drink and be merry; but Jesus said that very night he would die. Pray to use the goods of this world properly for not just not my good but for the needs of others and for the support of the church.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence & meditate on the selected passage and hear what  God speaks to you,

Operation: reflect: "many things....stored....be merry...life demanded”; we cannot rely on riches for they are both fleeting and we may not be around to enjoy them. Seek the grace to rely on Jesus and use  things in the way He prompts so that my use of them will bring me safely home..

Tomorrow's reading:Lk 12.35-38
