11.07.15

 Lectio: Mk 12.38-44

Meditatio: “He sat down opposite the treasury and observed how the crowd put money into the treasury. Many rich people put in large sums. A poor widow also came and pt in two small coins worth a few cents.” Mk12.41-42

Oratio: O God, You desire people to support Your church but you want contributions to be made with a generous spirit and not for show. Pray that I may contribute to the church as the widow did not for show but with a generous heart and out of love for the Church.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence & meditate on the selected passage and hear what  God speaks to you,

Operatio: reflect: "rich....large sums....poor...two small coins” Jesus declared that a poor widow gave more in the collection with her two small coins than those who gave large sums for she gave with a generous spirit while they gave for show and from their surplus. Seek the grace to do what your able to support the church; and to do so with a generous spirit and not for show and the Lord will be pleased..
