11.22.15

Lectio::Lk 21.1-4: “He said, ‘I tell you truly, this poor widow put in more than all the rest’.” Lk 21.3

Meditatio: Jesus cited the poor widow’s contribution - so small but so large in His eyes - because she gave from her need while the others gave from their surplus. Pray to be a cheerful giver and to allow it to be a sacrifice as well as a gift to the Lord.

Oratio: O God,  Jesus made it clear that it is not the size of the gift that counts but the size of our heart in the giving. Seek the grace to be a giver in the way Jesus desires of us so that our gifts may be truly pleasing to Him who has done so much for us.
Contemplatio: Spend some time with today's text and see how the Lord is speaking to you.

Operatio: reflect: "poor widow.....more...rest”; It is not the size of the gift that counts in God’s eyes but the sacrifice that is involved in making it. Seek the grace to give to the church what you are able and God will be pleased.
