Lk 23.35-43
Meditatio: “Then he (the thief) said, ‘Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom’.” Lk 23.42
Oratio: "O God, Your mercy is amazing!
I remember as Jesus hung on the cross, a repentant thief simply said to remember him when Jesus came into his kingdom - and Jesus replied, ‘This day you will be with me in paradise.’
Grant that I may be ever mindful of Your great mercy and make it known to others.
I ask this of You, who lives and reigns with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever.
Amen.”
Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.
Operatio: Reflect on God’s mercy and look for an opportunity to make it known to someone today.

- I was ordained for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia on May 15, 1993. I am a widower with 8 children and 24 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. On July 1, 2014 I began my residence at St Mathew Parish in Philadelphia, PA. My last assignment was pastor of St.Elizabeth Ann Seton in Bensalem, PA since November of 1999. I publish daily my Lectio Divina efforts via a group email. I will publish such efforts from time to time to this site as well as other pertinent info about the Good News of Jesus Christ or issues which are contrary to the Good News. What is Lectio Divina? Lectio Divina is the Study of and Meditation on Sacred Scripture. The steps include: Reading (Lectio),- Pondering (Meditatio); Praying (Oratio) and Silence(Contemplatio). I use the daily Lectionary as the source of readings.
