12.15.12

Lectio: Gn 49.2, 8-10
Meditatio: "The scepter shall never depart from Judah, or the mace from between his legs." Gn 49.10

Oratio: "O God, Your patriarchs of old were also signs for us.

I remember Jacob foretold that the Judah, the symbol for Your Son, would reign forever.
Grant that I may always hold Your Patriarchs in reverence as they are also Your sings for us and meant to help us on our journey back to You.
I ask these and all things through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.

Operatio: reflect on "mace"; a powerful and bludgeon type of weapon; a symbol of invincible power; a sign that Christ will rule forever; in prayer ask for the grace to seek the Lord at all times especially in those times when I am weak; knowing that He is all-powerful and He will protect me from eternal harm.
Tomorrow's reading: Jer 23.5-8
