12.09.12

Lectio: Is 35.1-10
Meditatio: "Then the eyes of the blind will be opened, the ears of the deaf be cleared."
Is 35.5

Oratio: "O God, You wanted us to know that are redemption was at hand and You gave us clear signs.

I remember Your prophet, Isaiah, declared that when our deliverance is at hand the blind would see and the deaf would hear - and so it came to pass when Your Son emptied Himself of His divinity and came among us.
Grant that I may be always grateful to Your Son’s public ministry of Good News and healings which clearly demonstrated His authority to declare our redemption was at hand.
I ask these and all things through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.

Operatio: reflect on "eyes...opened"; Jesus on several occasions cured the blind so that their sight was restored among whom Bartimeaus readily comes to mind; in prayer thank Jesus for coming down from heaven to us so that we may ascend to heaven by our responding to the His call to reform our lives and we will be with our God and our loved ones forever.

Tomorrow's reading: Is 40.1-11
