Lectio: Is 14. 9.1-6



Meditatio: "They name him Wonder-Counsellor, God-Hero, Father Forever, Prince of Peace." Is 9.5b

Oratio: "O God, You did not send anyone to save us - You sent us Your only Son!

 

I remember Your prophet, Isaiah, said of Him that He would be a wonderful counsellor, our God and Father and the source of our Peace.

Grant that I may be ever grateful to Your Son for coming among us so that one day we can come among You.
Iask these and all things through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.

Operatio: reflect on "Prince of Peace"; a great source, a royal source, a divine source of right relationships among people and among nations. In prayer thank God for our Morning Star, the Dawn from on High, our Wonder-Counsellor, our Hero, our Father, our Source of Peace; and seek the grace to accept His yoke for His yoke is easy and His burden is light.
