2.08.15

Lectio:  Mk 6.53-56

Meditatio: "Whatever villages or towns or countryside he entered, they laid their sick in the marketplaces and begged him that they might touch only the tassel of his cloak; and as many as touched it were healed.” Mk 6.56

Oratio: O God, Your Son’s presence alone was a source of amazement and of great benefit to the people to whom He came.

I remember in the land of Gennesaret, wherever He went,  He healed all and many by simply allowing them to touch the tassel of His cloak - what a spectacle! What a stamp of approval You gave to Him for the benefit of the people. In prayer may I be a source of Your love to those whose lives I touch so that they, too, will realize what a great a wonderful and loving God we have.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what
 God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect:"laid sick....tassel...touched...healed”; what a sight! All the sick lying in the marketplaces and being healed by simply touching the tassel of His cloak. Seek the grace to be a source of comfort to those who are sick and suffering so that they may rejoice in knowing that Christ is still with them and He will see them through and bring them to a glorious ending where there will be no more suffering, no more crying out; but only peace, joy and love.

Tomorrow's reading:.Mk 7.1-13
