2.16.15

 Lectio: Mk 8.14-21

Meditatio: "He enjoined them, ‘Watch out, guard against the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod’.” Mk 8.15

Oratio: O God, some times we are dense but You do not hold that against us.

I remember Jesus told His disciples to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of Herod. They thought  He was criticizing them for only bringing one loaf of bread with them.  But Jesus then reminded them of the miraculous feedings He had performed and then they got the message. In prayer seek to be open to God’s ways and not the way of the self-centered for that is the disposition Jesus warned His disciples against.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what
 God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect:"guard against.....leaven....Pharisees......Herod”; the ‘leaven of’  stood for the disposition of the Pharisees and Herod which was the disposition of only being for self, This is what Jesus warned against. Seek the grace to be other-centered for that is the disposition that Jesus expects of us.

 Tomorrow's reading:Mt 6.1-6, 16-18
