2.23.15

Lectio:   Mt 6.7-15

Meditatio: “This is how you are to pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,” Mt 6.9

Oratio: O God, You want us to pray for our sake  so that we draw closer to You.

I remember Jesus taught us how to pray and told us not to babble on thinking that the more we say the better our prayers and their effectiveness will be. Many words are not the answer for our Heavenly  Father already knows what we need without our telling Him. Rather,”The Our Father,” has the essentials of what should be in our prayer and the Heavenly Father is most pleased when we do.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what
 God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect:"pray...Our Father”; this prayer has a wonderful dynamic; it acknowledges God and prays for Him and His wants; and then for our needs and for the very important need for us to forgive and for us to recive forgiveness. Seek the grace to not only say the Our Father frequently but to interiorize its import.
