2.22.15

Lectio:  Mt 25.31-46

Meditatio: “Then they will answer and say, ‘Lord, when did we see hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or ill or in prison and not minister to your needs?’ He will answer them, ‘Amen, I say to you, what you did not do for one of these least ones, you did not do for me.” Mt 25.44,45

Oratio: O God, You are so concerned for those who have to struggle physically in this life and You look for us to respond to their need and You graciously grant us a great boon for doing so.

I remember in the Parable of the Nations Jesus made it quite clear that to respond to the needs of the least one’s who have such great human needs,t is the same as responding to Him. Pray like Mother Teresa of Calcutta did and see that Jesus is in the disguise of the disgusting, the unreasonable, the demanding and  pray, “Jesus, my savior, how sweet it is to serve you.” and it is a very effective paryer for Jesus, Himself, as confirmed this is so.                       .

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what
 God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect:"see hungry...not minister...not minister”; Jesus in the last judgement scene reveals an astonishing truth - He is present in this life in those who are the poor and the outcast and we should respond in this life to them for it is the same as responding to Him and what a privilege that is and what a gift He gives us - eternal life in heaven.
