2.11.15 & 2.12.15

 2.11.15

 Lectio: Mk 7.24-30

Meditatio: "The woman was a Greek, a Syrophoenician by birth, and she begged him to drive the demon out of ka her daughter." Mk 7.26

Oratio: O God, You cannot resist the cry of the sick.

I remember Your Son first resisted the plea of a Gentile mother for her daughter's health for His mission was to the Jews, but when she persisted and was willing to accept even the scraps, He relented and cured her daughter. In prayer always seek the help of The Lord no matter how sick the person, whether He will work a miracle is up to Lord but in a sense a miracle of faith has already occurred and The Lord will take care of the long term needs of the sick because of your faith.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what
 God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect:"Greek...begged...daughter"; although Jesus was sent to the Jews, He could not resist the mother's bantering with Him and He cured her daughter.  Seek the grace to show compassion and concern to all who approach you in their need and do what you are able and you  will be Christ to them.

 Tomorrow's reading: Mk 7.31-37

 2.12.15

 Lectio: Mk 7.31.37

Meditatio: "And people brought to him a deaf man who had a speech impediment and begged him to lay his hand on him." Mk 7.32

Oratio: O God, You hear the cry of the sick.

I remember Your Son once again replied to the plea of the Gentiles on behalf of a deaf man and healed him. In prayer do so with confidence when you seek the health of another for this kind of prayer receives a favorable hearing.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what
 God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect:"people...deaf...begged...lay hand"; when we are concerned for others and especially the sick and seek help for them that you cannot give, you are doing right by them.  Seek the grace to be Christ's hands, His smile, His words for the poor, the sick, and the outcast and God will be pleased with you as His child.

 Tomorrow's reading: Mk 8.1-10
