5.08.14

Lectio:  Jn 6.52-59

Meditatio: “Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day.” Jn 6.54

Oratio: "O God, How wonderful but incredible Your Son’s words were to His followers that they would have eternal life!

I remember Your Son told them how - that they had to eat of His  flesh and drink of His blood to have eternal life and they  found this incredible for they had not yet experienced the Eucharist - but Jesus made it all possible for them before He died by what He did at the Last Supper. May we have the grace to go to Eucharist frequently for through the Eucharist we eat His flesh and drink His blood and we have eternal life though Jesus.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what.
God is saying to you

Operatio: “eats....my flesh...drinks....eternal life”; what a gift; what a way to receive it - by the Eucharist; in prayer seek the grace to approach the Eucharistic table worthily and be ever grateful for the gift of eternal life that Jesus will give us for doing so

Tomorrow's reading: Jn 6.60-69
