Lectio: Jn 15.1-8
Meditatio: “ I [Jesus] am the vine, and my Father is the vine grower. He takes away every branch in me that does not bear fruit, and everyone that does, he prunes so that it bears more fruit.” Jn 15.1-2
Oratio: O God, You have wonderfully provided life for us!
I remember You gave us Your Son as the source of our life and by our remaining in His love, like a branch on a vine, our life is sustained. In prayer seek the grace to always remain in Jesus’ love by doing His will and we will bear the fruit He wants of us and we will remain in Him forever.
Grant that I may always love You with my whole heart, my whole soul and my whole strength for that is the least I can do for all You do for me.
I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what
God is saying to you.
Operatio: reflect: "vine...vinegrower....prunes”; the metaphor of Jesus as the Vine and His Father as the Vine Grower and we as branches on the Vine conveys a beautiful but simple image as to this life and fullness of life. In prayer may I always be grateful for the divine life that Jesus provides to me and may I live that life as He wishes so that His love may be manifested to others through me for that is the fruit He desires and deserves..
Tomorrow's reading: Jn 15.9-11
