5.23.14
Lectio: Jn 15.18-21
Meditatio: “ If the world hates you, realize that it hated me first.” Jn 15.18
Oratio: O God, we are Yours but it does not mean we are free from turmoil in this life
I remember Jesus told us that the world would hate us just as the world hated Him because it did not know that it was You who sent Him for their greatest good - eternal life! In prayer seek the grace to do my part to evangelize others so that they may know it is You who sent Jesus.
Grant that I may always make Your Son’s name known for there is no other name on earth by which we can be saved..
I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what
God is saying to you.
Operatio: reflect: "world hates...hated me”; Jesus’ followers are in union with Him and because they are, they will experience what He experienced because Jesus’ ways are in opposition to the culture of the world. But it is that very union with Jesus which will enable us to survive the turmoil of this life.
Tomorrow's reading: Jn 14.15-21
