5.30.14

Lectio: Lk 1.39-56

Meditatio: “ His [God’s] mercy is from age to age to those who fear him.” Lk 1.50
Oratio: O God, You are so kind to us who deserve Your wrath and not Your mercy.

I remember Mary declared that Your mercy is from age to age to those who fear You.  ‘fear’ is not used in her expression to mean emotional fear of You; but rather of reverential awe of You who are so deserving of our love and praise. In prayer seek the grace to love You always for that is how You want us to be in relationship to You.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what
God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect:  "mercy...who fear him”; fear is used in the biblical sense of reverential awe of God and so we should be Who is our God and our All.  In prayer ask the Holy Spirit for the grace to always remember Who our God is - our source of being and our All; and may we always give Him the praise, honor and glory that is rightly His by living a life which reflects the Law of Love for that is why He made us.

Tomorrow's reading: Jn 17.1-11a
