5.31.14
Lectio: Jn 17.1-11a
Meditatio: “ Now this is eternal life, that they should know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ.” Jn 17.3
Oratio: O God, You are so want us to return to You and You have made it possible for us even be with you while we are on our earthly journey.
I remember Your Son declared that eternal life is in the here and the now for He said that eternal life is to know You and to know Him - and what a gift You give us in return for the another gift - faith. In prayer seek the grace of gratitude for the gift of faith for in knowing You we will love You and in loving You we will abide with You now and forever.
I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what
God is saying to you.
Operatio: reflect: "eternal life....know ...God and...Jesus”; eternal life is not something that begins in the future - it begins now in the knowing of the Father and the Son; the knowledge of whom is a gift of the Holy Spirit; in prayer seek the grace to live rightly so that being in eternal life now will benefit when I am one day immersed in life with God.
Tomorrow's reading: Jn 16.29-33
