5,12.14
Lectio: Jn 10.22-30
Meditatio: “How long are you going to keep us in suspense? If you are the Messiah tell us plainly. Jesus answered them, ‘I told you and you do not believe. The works I do in my Father’s name testify to me’.” Jn 10.24b, 25
Oratio: "O God, how sad that our hardness of heart causes us to reject what is meant for our salvation!
I remember the Jews did not believe that Jesus was the Messiah, despite seeing the great miracles He performed and His declaration that He is the good shepherd and the gate and whoever enters through Him will be saved. Seek the grace to accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior and Messiah and the grace to live a life that reflects that belief.
I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what.
God is saying to you
Operatio: “Messiah...told you...works ...testify;” Jesus must have been exasperated by the Jews continuing to ask Him about His identity; He must have known they were not sincere since He had revealed His role plainly by His works. One can conclude, they wanted Him to say He was the Messiah so they could accuse Him of blasphemy. Pray for a believing heart and a grateful one for all Jesus has done great things for us and Holy is His name and our Messiah.
Tomorrow's reading: Jn 15.9-17
