Lectio: Jn 16.20-23
Meditatio: “ Amen, amen, I say to you, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices; you will grieve, but your grief will become joy.” Him 16.20
Oratio: O God, You so make up to us for the little we suffer for You.
I remember Jesus declared that His disciples would be sad because of His death while the world, that is the religious elite, would rejoice; yet in the end that would change and His disciples would rejoice. In prayer seek to know the Lord and His ways and you will be blest and You will be a blessing to those around you.
I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what
God is saying to you.
Operatio: reflect: "grief...joy”; this dual but opposite dynamic is the roller coaster of emotions the disciples felt when Jesus died but then rose again. In prayer ask the Holy Spirit for the grace to rejoice always in the Lord for He is the God of joy and He wants us to be joyful.
Tomorrow's reading: Jn 17.1-11a
