5.26.14
Lectio: Jn 16.5-11
Meditatio: “ And when he [Advocate] comes, he will convict the world in regard to sin and righteousness and condemnation.” Jn 16.8
Oratio: O God, You do not let the world remain in the dark about things that matter for our salvation.
I remember Jesus told His disciples that He would send the Advocate - the Holy Spirit - to set things straight and the world would know that although Jesus would die in disgrace on the cross, He would return to the Father showing the world was wrong in convicting Him.
Grant that I may be always grateful for the Holy Spirit for how He enlightens us, guides us and guards us and support us on our journey to the Father.
I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what
God is saying to you.
Operatio: reflect: "he comes....convict ...world”; Jesus was talking about the Holy Spirit and His immediate role would be to set the world straight about things that really matter - and that Jesus’ condemnation was wrong amd about sin and about righteousness . In prayer ask the Holy Spirit to come, to fill your hearts, with truth and with love and with grace of final perseverance.
Tomorrow's reading: Jn 16.12-15
