5.24.14
Lectio: Jn 14.15-21
Meditatio: “ Whoever has my commandments and observes them is the one who loves me. And whoever loves me, will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and reveal myself to him.”
Jn 14.21
Oratio: O God, the way to Your love is well known.
I remember Jesus told us that if we keep His commandments, both He and You would love us. Love is the key and the commandments define the core of what is love in practice. In prayer seek the grace to observe Jesus’ commandments always and then He can do with us what love requires.
Grant that I may always observe Your Son’s commandments so as to give You honor and glory here on earth for that is the least I can do for all You have done for me.
I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what
God is saying to you.
Operatio: reflect: "commandments...observes...loves me”; the formula of love is easy, the practice of love is not; but the results are great! In prayer seek the grace to do what Jesus’ commands and we will experience love beyond all telling and we will be greatly blest.
