5.17.14
Lectio: Jn 14.1-12
Meditatio: “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith in God; have faith also in me.” Jn 14.1
Oratio: O God, what a source of comfort You are in times of sorrow!
I remember Jesus told us when our hearts are troubled and they certainly they are when a loved one dies - that we should not let them be troubled, but we should have faith in You and in Him. And when we do, we realize you take away all that troubles our hearts; for You provide a place for our loved ones where they will live in peace, joy and love for they will be with You forever.
Grant that I may always recognize that death is not the end of life; but rather the door to kingdom; a place where all is well and it is a place of unending peace, joy and love; and then give You thanks and praise for being so good to us.
I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what
God is saying to you.
Operatio: reflect: "hearts troubled...have faith in God”; God is the antidote for all our sorrows, for all our fears, for all our misfortunes; for He loves us with an everlasting and infinite love and love conquers all. Seek the grace to turn to Him when in need and troubled and do so with confidence for He is our loving God..
