5.10.14
Lectio: Jn 10.1-10
Meditatio: “I [Jesus] am the gate. Whoever enters through me will be saved, and will come in and go out and find pasture.” Jn 20.9
Oratio: "O God, Your Son spoke to the Pharisees using metaphors which they should readily understand.
I remember Jesus referred to Himself as the gate to the sheepfold. The gate provide safe shelter for the sheep when they are in the sheepfold and when the gate is open it allows the sheep to go out to eat and thereby have life. By using this metaphor Jesus was telling the Pharisees that He is the protector of the people and that He gives them abundant life; implying they failed to protect the people and did not give them life with their ways. May I allow Jesus to be my Gate and my keeper.
I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what.
God is saying to you
Operatio: “gate....enters..saved...in...out...pasture”; Jesus is the Gate - the source of our protection and our life; in prayer seek the grace to always follow the voice of Jesus as He is the Good Shepherd who will lead us home to His Father and everlasting life..
